Ello!

This past weekend, was a bit different for me. Though I'm usually either burying myself into academic journal articles or catching up on books regarding the business I love so much, I had a moment to catch up with a colleague of mine at "The Drunken Coconut."

Ladies and Gentleman, meet Ryan. Label owner, producer, writer, among the many other hat's he tries to fit on his head, though interestingly enough, what makes him stand out from most people in the industry is his humility and respect for the arts. Between him and his partner Ariel, both have devoted themselves in helping the underdog of an artist. Underdog, what most of us associate ourselves like at one time or another or perhaps throughout our entire lives, is a person that literally has started at the bottom and works, and hopes, to advance themselves towards the next stage of his or her life. Ryan linked me to a duo that encompasses hard work, dedication, and focus from a collective based out of Minneapolis. That's right, the same state our late Prince was born and raised in who would later become the creator of the "Minneapolis Sound, which fuses a hybrid of sounds which include R&B, funk, pop, rock, and new wave. The Prams approach to their own music is very unique itself as voicing, acoustics, and electronics all circumvent their innovative sound. Want to learn more about the Prams?
